J.W. BARNETT
J.W. Barnett, 43, died Dec. 22, 2012 at home.
Funeral services were Wednesday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Barnett was born April 8, 1969 in Yazoo County to Bobby and Charline Parker Barnett. He was an offshore oil worker and a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Jasper Barnett of Yazoo City; daughter, Shayna Barnett of Yazoo City; mother, Charline Barnett of Yazoo City; four sisters, Mary Ray, Charlotte Seay and Bobbie Rodgers, all of Yazoo City, and Emma Kirkland of Arkansas; special grandchild, Caden Barnett; and special friends, Noel Poore and Toni Poore.

BILL CUMMINGS
Cecil G. “Bill” Cummings, 82, died Dec. 31, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Thursday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Richardson officiating. Burial followed at Short Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Cummings was born Aug. 14, 1930 in Yazoo County. He was a retired maintenance worker for Mississippi Chemical Corporation and a member of Sallis Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Cummings; two sisters, Bettye Manor and Joyce Russell; and a brother, Harvey W. Cummings.
Survivors include a son, Steven W. Cummings (Cathy) of Sallis; a grandson, Stephen C. Cummings of Sallis; granddaughter, Cecelia Barnhill of Ethel; and a sister, Jane Gordon of Yazoo City.
Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Brown, Rand Ainsworth, David Dodd, Brent Busbea, Bill Winstead and Jack Ables.
Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Barnhill, Don Hutchinson, Wayne Bishop, Lynn Cain, Arthur Ables Jr. and Allen Winstead.

VICKY HANCOCK
After a courageous ten year battle with cancer, Victoria Lynn Hancock (Vicky) has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She passed away at her home on December 31st 2012 at the age of 61.
Vicky is predeceased by her father, Victor Cook Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Harold F. Hancock Sr. (Bobo). They were married at Bentonia Baptist Church on August 16th 1970.
Vicky is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Harold F. Hancock Jr (Bo) of Bentonia and William J. Hancock (Josh) of Madison, a daughter-in-law Elizabeth B. Hancock (Betsy), and three grandsons, Cooper, Parker, and Noah Hancock, all of Madison. She is also survived by her mother, Geraldine Cook Morton of Hinds County, and two brothers, Ronnie Cook of Pocahontas, and Victor Cook III of Hinds County. She is also remembered by her dear cousins, Marcos and Sandra Castrillo whom she loved as siblings.  
Vicky was born in Yazoo County, Mississippi on September 21st, 1951. She graduated from Bentonia High in 1969. She also earned a beautification certificate and worked as a dedicated hair dresser in the Bentonia area, and more recently at the Orchard Retirement Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
She not only enjoyed her profession, but was dedicated to her “ladies” on a personal level. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and enjoyed getting to know her three young grandsons. Vicky will forever be loved and remembered for her kindhearted spirit and the compassion she had for others.   
Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
Reverand DJ Speckner  officiated the ceremony. Interment followed at Bentonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Bentonia, Mississippi.

MARY JACKSON
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Rock” Jackson was born on November 22, 1923 to Calvin and Edna Jackson. She joined Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
Sister Jackson was united in holy matrimony to Mr. A.J. Jackson.
Sister Jackson worked diligently at the Calvary M.B. Church faithfully until her health failed. She served in various capacities; choir member, mother board, and assistant Sunday School teacher.
Sister Jackson loved to cook and help people in anyway possible. She had a warm heart but also a stern demeanor. She was quick to correct, but it would all be out of love.
Sister Mary E. Jackson departed this life on December 22, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; four brothers, Calvin Jackson Jr., Ernest Jackson, Willie Jackson, and Roosevelt Jackson II and three sisters; Mealie Jackson, Lula Mae Clay and Catherine Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving grandson, Mr. Jamal D. Williams of Yazoo City, MS; four sisters, Corrine Moore of Niles, Michigan and Jessie Woodard of Moorehead, MS, Evelyn Jones of Niles, Michigan, Josephine Glenn of Niles, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Sister Jackson also leaves five God-daughters that helped her greatly; Mrs. Jessie Jones, Mrs. Rose Moore, Mrs. Emma Clark, Mrs. Pearlie Davis, and Mrs. Dorothy J. Williams.
Sister Jackson lived a prosperous life and was a God-fearing Christian. We will miss our loved one, but we know that you have moved on to a higher and better place.
Funeral services will be January 5, 2013 at Calvary M.B. Church at 1:00 P.M. Pastor RaSean Thomas will be officiating.

JIMMY PEEPLES
Jimmy Peeples, 72, died December 30, 2012, in Louise.  Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Stricklin- King Funeral Home, Yazoo City, Ms.  Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery, Yazoo City, Ms.  
Jimmy was born September 28, 1940 in Choctaw County, MS.  He moved to Humphreys County at an early age.  He enjoyed working for Delta Telephone Company of Louise, Ms for 48 years before he retired for health reasons. He actively farmed for forty years and loved it dearly.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Louise, MS.  He was happy to be able to attend services up to two weeks ago.
Jimmy was an avid deer hunter and spent many hours of peace and quiet at his deer camp.  His grandchildren have many fond memories of Papaw taking them to the deer camp riding horses and 4 wheelers.  He loved traveling to Branson to hear the music and was able to go several times after he retired.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Maurine H Peeples and James P Peeples, brothers, William P Peeples and James C. Peeples.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley P Peeples, daughters Cindy Marshall and Christy DuBois; grandchildren, Magen Courtney, Chad Courtney, Lane DuBois, Angelique (An-Whittington) DuBois; sisters, Shirley McIntyre and husband, Keith, Barbara Daniels and husband, Glen, Jan Logan and husband Jody; brothers, Jerry Peeples and wife, Velda, Billy Ray Peeples, Harold Peeples and wife, Carolyn, and Pat Peeples and wife, Lisa.
Pall bearers are John Sandlin, Billy Weissinger, John Lang, Chuck Janes, Keith Rambo, and Kevin Tharp.

BILLY ROBINSON
Billy E. Robinson, 78, of Louise died Dec. 31, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Straight Bayour Cemetery in Humphreys County. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Robinson was born Dec. 29, 1934 in Gilbert, Ala. to Earnest E. and Hattie Cecil Robinson. He was a farm driver and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie A. Robinson of Louise; a daughter, Tammy Hughes of Ocean Springs; two sons, Bobby Robinson of Pearl and Darrell Robinson of Pineville, La.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

MAE WALTON
Mae Helton Walton, 67, died Dec. 20, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Century Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Scott officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Ms. Walton was born April 17, 1945 in Yazoo County to Carl and Christine Gibbs Walton. She was a member of Piney Springs M.B. Church. After the death of her mother, she moved to Oak Park, Illinois under the care of her cousins, Kathleen Jones and MaSheila Drake.
Survivors include her cousins and a host of other friends and relatives.
Serving as pallbearers were Rev. Leroy Gibson, McArthur Straughter, Dante Williams, Hubert Nelson, Michael Suttlar and Louis Williams.
