Stray bullet strikes woman in the face

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

A Yazoo City woman was hit by a stray bullet after some residents fired bullets into the air to ring in the new year.
Police Chief Eric Snow said the victim is recovering from her wound, but he is very frustrated with the reckless way many celebrate New Year’s Eve.
“When the new year comes in, many people begin to shoot weapons into the air,” he said. “No matter how much we get the word out, people still do this.”
