Four jailed in botched car theft

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Four Jackson men remain behind bars after attempting to steal a vehicle from a local hotel parking lot.
Bobby Stamps, Devontae Stamps, Anthony Harris and Anotinian Harris were all charged with grand larceny.
Capt. Tilmon Clifton said the investigation began last week when a guest at the Hampton Inn contacted the police department about someone hitting their car.
“When officers went to check, they noticed the steering column had been pryed into,” Clifton said. “Someone had attempted to steal the vehicle.”
