IDA MAE DIEW
Ida Mae Diew, 66. died Nov. 14, 2012.
Funeral services were Nov. 24 at New Zion M.B. Church with Rev. Eugene Smith officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Ms. Diew was born July 12, 1946 to Joe and Julia Diew. She was educated in the Yazoo City public school system and was baptized in her early teens.
Survivors include her children, Ernest Diew (Victoria), Sheila Diew, Charles Diew, Lenora Diew, Chatmaine Diew and LaKeisha Diew; siblings, Dorothy Dean Young of Chicago, James Edward Diew, Herbert Diew of Virginia, Robert Diew and Vivian Diew; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

LORA ANN GREEN
Lora Ann Parker-Green, 50, died Nov. 20, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at King Solomon M.B. Church with Rev. Benjamin Hall Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mrs. Green was born May 19, 1962 in Yazoo City to Willie Parker Sr. and Betty Parker. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a sister, Marilyn Parker.
Survivors include her husband, Marty Green; two sons, Verneal Parker of Yazoo City and Venson Scott Jr. of Jackson; two sisters, Francine Rucker (Chris) and Bettie Parker-Scott, both of Yazoo City; four brothers, Willie Parker Jr. of Yazoo City, Norman Parker of Guam, Septimus Parker (Lawanda) of Cordova, Tenn. and Kevin Parker of Lawton, Okla.; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

HORACE JOHNSON Sr.
Horace Johnson Sr., 73, died Nov. 16, 2012.
Funeral services were Nov. 21 at the Church of Christ with Rev. Robert Jenkins Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Yazoo Memorial Gardens under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 22, 1939 in Yazoo City to Arthur and Maggie B. Johnson. He accepted Christ and was baptized in 1987. He was the owner of Fannie’s Cafe.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Fannie Johnson; two daughters, Cathy Haley (Harvey) of Jackson and Theresa Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Horace Johnson Jr. of Chicago and Douglas Johnson of Yazoo City; stepson, Leroi Smith of Yazoo City; brothers, Arthur Johnson Jr. (Emma), Eugene Johnson, Carl Johnson (Willie Jean), and Melvin Johnson, all of Yazoo City, and James Johnson of Fayettesville, Ark.; sisters, Elsie Gardner of New Orleans, Minnie Turnage (Leonard) of Chicago, Carlean Love of Jackson and Bessie Patrolia (Gregory) of Hammond, La.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Matt Gould Jr., Ken Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Herbert Johnson, William Washington and Michael Gould.
Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Johnson Jr., Eugene Johnson, Carl Johnson, Melvin Johnson, James Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Horace Johnson Jr. and Ray Carter.

RICKY SCOTT
Ricky Ray Scott, 42, died Nov. 28, 2012.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Yazoo Community Complex.
Mr. Scott was born Jan. 4, 1970 in Yazoo City to Henry and Alma Scott. At age 16 he began an 11-year career as a minister. He was also a builder and a member of the Yazoo East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served as a member of the Mississippi Regional Building Committee Number 2.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Scott; mother, Alma Scott; six sisters, Arletha Carter, Henryean Simmons (Maceo), Annie Laura Kelly, Brenda Gail Scott, Melinda Kaye Williams (Fedrick) and Belinda Faye (Curtis); three brothers, James Henry Scott, John B. Scott (Jo Ann) and Charles Edward Scott (Dana) three stepdaughters, Pamela Almore Delong (Thomas), Paula Almore Davis (Terry), and Pashley Almore; five stepsons, Charlie Ray Almore (Darlene), Christopher Almore (Koko), Creighton Almore, Casey Taylor Almore, Clayton Morris Almore; a special son, Mario Jones; and a host of other friends and relatives.

MELVIN TURNAGE
Melvin Turnage, 63, died Nov. 19, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at Big Bethel Baptist Church in Vaughan. Arrangements were entrusted to Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Turnage was born March 9, 1949 in Yazoo County to the late Charlie Lee and Pauline Palmer Turnage. Lucille and Connie Turnage helped in his upbringing until he moved to Chicago at age 15.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Flora Mae Banks; and a brother, Charlie Lee Turnage Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Brooklin Turnage of Yazoo City; two sons, Kenny Brooklin Turnage of Yazoo City and Lenny Brooklin Turnage of Chicago; one other son and daughter; six sisters, Rilla Rene Barton (Henry) of Vaughan, Flossie Turnage and Ida Mae Smith of Chicago, Susie Davis and Kelli Adams of Muskegon, Mich. and Cenola Redmond (Marvin) of Byhalia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
