Chef to teach how to make Southern cooking healthier

By JASON PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Southern food is known around the world for its good taste, but unfortunately it also has a reputation for being unhealthy.
Professional Chef Domini Bradford of Jackson will be in Yazoo on July 31 to demonstrate how to prepare Southern cuisine in a manner that keeps the good taste without the bad health.
The event is sponsored by the Yazoo County Health Network and is free to the public. It will take place from 5-7 p.m. at Health Integration at 225 E. Jefferson St.
Brigette Vandevere with the YCHN said the event will include the viewing of a health related video, cooking demonstrations by  Bradford and a number of foods to sample. Bradford will teach participants how to change their diet, offer free recipes and reveal the truth about the foods we eat.
“It will truly be a life changing experience,” Vandevere said. “You will learn how you can still eat the same Southern foods you love without destroying your health.”
