King’s first bow kill a giant

Practice makes perfect.
For the perfect hunting experience, Slaton King practiced about an hour a day with his bow.
King took up bow hunting last year, but didn’t kill anything. He was determined to make this year successful and put in the time to make sure he was ready when he got an opportunity to take a shot at a nice buck.
He even practiced on days when he was going hunting.
This season King got some photos of a big buck on his trail camera and set up his stand in the area. Gun season opened last Saturday, but King held on to his bow while many hunters broke out high powered rifles.
“I wanted to kill that buck with my bow because it would be twice as special,” King said.
Last Sunday King finally got the opportunity he had been working for, and the result was much better than he ever imagined.
“I heard two does coming to my right,” King said.
And then he appeared.
An 11-point with a 22 1/2 inch spread followed those two does right past King’s stand.
