Yazoo City Fire Department donates smoke alarms

The Yazoo City Fire Department have been distributing free smoke alarms to the community thanks to a grant. The grant provides the installation and delivery of a special sealed smoke alarm with a 10-year battery, coordinated through the local fire department. During the visit to install alarms, firefighters also provided fire prevention and home escape planning education and left educational brochures for the residents to review after the firefighters have left. Low income families, senior citizens, families with children under 14 and persons with disabilities were targeted to receive smoke alarms. Pictured from left are Chief Roy Wilso, Kenneth Washington, Capt. Michael Purvis, Lt. Tarvis Patton, Sean Love, Capt. Troy Goston, Lt. Britt Johnson, Battilon Chief Stanley Lynn and Division Chief Glenn Warrington. The Yazoo City Fire Department have been distributing free smoke alarms to the community thanks to a grant.
