WILLIAM BURTON
William J. Burton, 77, of Flora died Nov. 16, 2012.
Funeral services were Monday at First Baptist Church of Flora with Rev. Joe Cole officiating. Burial followed at Flora City Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Burton was born Dec. 6, 1934 in Yazoo County to Archie and Essie Bostick Burton. He was an assembly worker for Sperry Vickers and a member of First Baptist Church of Flora. His family will always remember him for his dear love of both the Ole Miss and Tri-County Academy Rebels.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Burton of Flora; a son, Bryan Burton (Susan) of Clinton; a daughter, Tina Burton of Madison; three sisters, Catherine Tucker of Bentonia, Pauline Vernell of Flora and Patricia Fondren of Flora and two grandchildren, Erin Burton and Kyle Burton.
Serving as pallbearers were Lacy Cohea, Chris Hammack, Irwin Burton, Mike Tucker, Tab Burton, Jimmy Hammack, David Burton, Kevin Fondren and Frank Varnell.

MARY CROCKER
Mary Lee Crocker, 93, of Bentonia died Nov. 16, 2012 at Highland Home in Ridgeland.
Funeral services were Monday at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. D.J. Speckner officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crocker was born Sept. 2, 1919 in Yazoo County to Jacob Leroy Echols and Mamie Vaiden Myers Echols. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Bentonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Denise Helms of Ridgeland; a grandson, Marty Kinnard (Candyce) of Benton; and two great grandchildren, Cole Kinnard and Jax Kinnard.
Serving as pallbearers were Gerald Creel, Griff Irwin, Jackie Niven, Kim Sligh, Kelly Speight, Richard Creel, David Osborn, Tony Osborn and Clay Creel.

MARY DAVIS
Mary Gladys Saxton Davis, 84, of Benton died Nov. 16, 2012 at home.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Arlie Francis officiating. Burial followed at Midway Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 16, 1928 in Yazoo County to George and Alma Hasty Saxton. She was a retired nurse and a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, John Griffin Davis (Lise) of Benton, Bobby Leo Davis (Tammy) of Benton, Billy Leon Davis (Donna) of Madison and Harry Saxton (Billie Fae) of Vicksburg; four daughters, Angela Ellet (Robert) of Benton, Janie Arlene Luby of Benton, Judy Brewer of Benton and Jean Henson (Frank) of Benton; two brothers, Howard Saxton of Yazoo City and J.T. Saxton of Yazoo City; three sisters, Ila Ward of Benton, Carlee House of Benton and Ruby Ward of Vicksburg; 29 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Leon Davis; a great granddaughter, Tracey Cotton; sons-in-law, Billy Brewer and George Doby; and brother-in-law, Joe Davis.
Serving as pallbearers were George Doby, Leon Davis, John Johnson, David Bryant, David Doby, Chad Jones, Wesley Boone and Mike Ellet.

BERNICE JONES
Bernice P. Jones, 92, died Nov. 17, 2012.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hutto and Rev. Marshall Burnett officiating. Burial followed at Short Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born April 23, 1920 in Arkansas. She was a retired CNA for King’s Daughters Hospital and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Jones; and a son, Carey E. Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Bloom (Larry) of Yazoo City; four grandsons, Carey E. Jones, Spike Bloom, Justin Jones and Matthew Bloom; and four great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Jay Jones, Spike Bloom and Matthew Bloom.

FREDDIE WINTERS

Honorable Freddie Winters, 70, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.
Visitation will be Friday at 5 p.m. at Century Funeral Home.
Funeral services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Vernon M.B. Church with Rev. Benjamin Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
