Special to The Herald

The Lintonia Garden Club met on Oct. 24 in the Public Service Commission boardroom.
President Elouise Upchurch called the meeting to order. During the business discussion, a report was given concerning the success of the garden club’s booth at the Yazoo County Fair. Members were reminded to bring canned goods or paper porducts for the Manna House to the November meeting.
Donna Beliech, a horticulturist for the Mississippi State University Extension Service, presented a program about landscape design. Using a series of slides, Beliech discussed the factors to consider when deciding on the placement of trees, shrubs and flowers.
The meeting concluded with refreshments served by the hostesses Ruby Gilliam and Judy Sanford.
