Garden Club gives out flower seeds at Yazoo County Fair

The Lintonia Garden Club was very pleased with the amount of visitors to its booth at this year’s Yazoo County Fair. The Lintonia Garden Club was very pleased with the amount of visitors to its booth at this year’s Yazoo County Fair. Special to The Herald

The booth at the Yazoo County Fair manned and decorated by the Lintonia Garden Club was another activity planned and carried out by club members.
Seven women participated in the decorating of the booth. Each evening members, friends and husbands were in the booth to hand out packets of the Mississippi State Wildflower, Calliopsis, with instructions for planting.
This was also an opportunity to acquaint visitors with information about what garden clubs do throughout the year.
Other brochures with pictures and details of other wildflowers were also available. The flower seeds, brochures and information sheet was provided by the Yazoo County Soil and Water Conservation District.
