HELEN COPE
Helen Cader Cope, 85, of Quitman, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at Specialty Hospital in Meridian.
Funeral services were Friday at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Edward Cope, Jr.; son, James Michael Cope and parents, James and Jane Cader.
Survivors include her sons, Edward Steven Cope and Richard Christopher Cope; daughter, Jane Cope Kramer; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

EMMY DANIELS
Mrs. Emmy Louise Daniels, 80, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 in Jackson.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Black Jack Cemetery with Rev. Rocky Henriques officiating.
Mrs. Daniels was a Baptist and a retired bookkeeper.
She is preceded in death by parents, N.L. and Edna Saxton Alderman; husband, Gene Daniels; brother, N.L. Alderman, Jr.; grandson, Chris Hickman; son-in-law, Richard Greenwood.
Survivors include her daughter, Emmogene Greenwood of Vaughan; son, Billy (Tammy) Daniels of Vaughan; sisters, Annette Daniels of Vaiden, Elizabeth Warnock of Vicksburg and Christine Murphy of Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

DR. JACK NICHOLSON
Dr. Jackie “Jack” Owen Nicholson, 69, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were Friday at Parkview Church of God with the Rev. Ken Lynch officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Dr. Nicholson was born near Satartia on October 18th, 1943. His parents were the late Daniel David Nicholson and Hazel Christine King of Holly Bluff. He recently retired as the Superintendent of Education of the Yazoo County School District.
Dr. Nicholson was a former coach of basketball and football at Shaw High School, Holly Bluff School, Sharkey-Issaquena Academy, Benton Academy, and Tensas Academy.  He led several teams to the state play-offs in basketball. He was an avid sportsman, and was a charter member of Yazoo Sportsman Association, served for many years as president of the Over-the-Hill Hunting Club, and was a strong promoter of the golf program of the Benton Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Nicholson of Benton; daughter, Rosanne Mascarenhas (Victor) of Nashville, North Carolina; son Brad Nicholson (April) of Yazoo City; sister, Retha Riley of Yazoo City; and six grandchildren, Jack Mascarenhas, Tri Lloyd, Harris Nicholson, Mary Alaine Mascarenhas, Jack Lloyd, and Ryan Bradley Nicholson.
Serving as pallbearers were Jarred Mayfield, Bruce Ruschewski, Jeffery Carpenter, Kenny Childress, Ryan Dunn, and Michael Milner.
Memorials may be made to the Parkview Church of God Building Fund, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.

DORIS ROACH
Doris Ann Roach, 80, died Oct. 25, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 29 at Melrose Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Holland and Rev. Wayne Long officiating. Burial followed at Melrose Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roach was born July 14, 1932 in Medina, Tenn. to the late Buster Gardner and the late Mary Lou (Luna) Barto. She was a homemaker and a member of Melrose Baptist Church She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her eldest son, John Randall Roach.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John William Roach of Benton; a daughter, Lou Ann Roach Kinnard (Rick) of Benton; sons, James Dennis Roach (Maria) of Yazoo City and William Roy Roach (Lesa) of Flowood; a sister, Mary Virginia “Jenny” McCommon of Germantown, Tenn.; two sister-in-laws, Bessie Marie Rutherford of Horizon City, Texas and Pamela Clara Bell of Atoka, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, James Harold Roach (Vonda) of Tucson Arizona; four grandchildren, Jeremy Roach of Monterey, La., Randi Roach Poole (Jimmy) of Monterey, La., Brian Moore of Palm Desert, Calif., Olivia Roach of Flowood; a step-grandson, Ty Sanders of Flowood; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Roach, Dennis Rutherford, Jeremy Roach, Ty Sanders, R.J. Williams and Tony LaFleur.
Honorary pallbearers were Rick Kinnard, Jason McCommon, Brian Moore, John Harrington and Jimmy Poole.
