Panthers win district crown

By ALEX LAKE
Sports Editor

Yazoo County's regular season has seen its ups and downs. But Friday night, the Panthers secured one of their goals for the season.
The Panthers are district 3 4A state champions after defeating Gentry High School (5-6) in Indianola Friday night 20-6.
The game was competitive until late in the fourth when the Panthers took advantage of turnovers by the Rams. The game was tied 6-6 heading in to the fourth quarter.
"We fought hard and finally were able to capitalize," head coach Bernard Euell said. "We've had the will to win even through a lot of adversity, and we're very pleased with that."
