The Lintonia Garden Club met on Sept. 26 at the Public Service Commission Boardroom.
Dr. Elouise Upchurch called the meeting to order. She gave a brief overview of projects and events for the coming year. Plans were made for the garden club booth at the Yazoo County Fair in October. A report was given on the awards received by the Lintonia Garden Club at the River Road District meeting on Sept. 11. A plant exchange was set for the October meeting.
Betsy Walters, state chairman for the NGC project, Protecting Aquatic Ecosystems, served as guest speaker. Her topic was on rain barrels. She discussed different types of barrels and the best placement to gather water. Mrs. Walters also gave members a diagram and instructions to make a rain barrel from a large trash can or bucket.
After the meeting, hostesses Dot Meeks and Elouise Upchurch served delicious refreshments.
