Authorities say “accident” was really murder

By JASON PATTERSON

Investigators immediately knew that this was no bicycle accident.
The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a report of an accident at the intersection of Big Martin Road Monday in which a bicyclist had reportedly been struck by an automobile.
Ranel Moore, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene. Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said Moore’s body was found on the shoulder of the road at the intersection.
