Special to The Herald

Members of the Four Seasons Garden Club were eager to learn about pruning, one of the least understood practices of landscape maintenance.
Donna Beliech, a horticulturist with the Mississippi State University Extension Service, presented an informative program at the garden club’s October meeting in the home of Patsy Peaster.
During the meeting, president Jeanne Santmyer announced that the club also won several awards from the Garden Clubs of Mississippi.
The club earned a Certificate of Merit for its Arbor Day Program, Community Service, Publicity and Environmental Awareness. The club earned a Certificate of Appreciation for contributions to the Governor’s Mansion Landscape Fund, Garden Clubs of Mississippi Scholarships and State Headquarters Endowment Fund.
Members also enjoyed a delicious apple dessert with refreshments.
Co-hostesses were Pam Hibbard and Linda Ketchum.
