The Saltillo Lady Tigers eliminated Yazoo City Tuesday from the 5A MHSAA slow pitch softball tournament.
In the best-of-three series format, the Lady Indians were defeated in quick fashion by the scores 20-0 and 17-7.
The Lady Indians were only able to muster two hits in the first game including a double from senior Angela Hudson. The two games combined Yazoo City totaled only seven hits. Both games ended before the normal seven innings due to the 10 run rule.
We just weren't ready to play really at all," Head coach Gerald Peyton said. "In the second game, we battled back a bit but (Saltillo) is probably the best team we played all year."
