Leake too much for Mavs

Manchester Academy (3-5)  couldn't recover from a 29-point deficit at inter-mission to lose to Leake Academy (5-3) 44-12 in Yazoo City.
The Mavericks' inability to move the ball on offense resulted in only 33 offensive plays, allowing the Rebels to take advantages of short fields while keeping the defense on the field.
"Main thing we can take from the game is that (Josh) Peaster is improving, so that should really help us going down the line," head coach of the Mavericks Benny McLendon said.
The senior Peaster led the Mavericks' defense with 11 tackles while also catching a touchdown pass from Wister Hitt helping him to also lead the team in total yards with 169.
