Yazoo Christian Soccer Club, sponsored by First Presbyterian Church, kicked off the new season with a jamboree at the Wardell Leach Recreation Complex on Saturday, September 22. The teams were announced, team pictures taken, and the soccer players rotated through a series of drills at ten different stations for two hours. Wade Yeates organized the first ever event, and with the help of Lyncyn Reliquias, Annie Peaster, Laura Ellis Royal, Maureen Johnson, Jessie Lewis, and John Adams, all from Manchester Academy, it was fun for everyone involved. This year there are 112 children representing several schools in the city and county. Parents sacrifice their time and energy to help coach teams and without their contribution YCSC would not be the success it has been over the years.
