CARL OSTERTHALER

Carl Osterthaler III, 85, a native of Cleveland, Ohio and a resident of Spanish Fort, Ala., died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Westminster Village.  
A memorial service to honor Mr. Osterthaler will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 3 pm at the home of Cynthia Fuller in Yazoo City. Call 662-746-2948 for information.
Mr. Osterthaler was a Rice University graduate. He was a former employee of Mississippi Chemical Corporation in Yazoo City. He had also been employed by Walk Haydel Engineering in Baton Rouge, La., and retired from the State of Louisiana Environmental Control. Mr. Osterthaler served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and served as Post Commander for the Yazoo City V.F.W.  
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Jumonville Osterthaler.  
Survivors include his children, Cynthia (Frank) Fuller of Yazoo City, Thomas Osterthaler of Yazoo City, and Carl (Leslie) Osterthaler IV of Eagle, Idaho; his grandchildren, Crystal Rouse of Clarksville, Tenn., Phillip Carl Fuller of Chambersburg, Pa., Lane Riddle of Heber Springs, Ark., Sean Osterthaler of San Diego, Calif., and Shane Osterthaler Bonney  of Lake Wash.; and six great-grandchildren.

RICHARD ROBERTSON

Richard L. Robertson, 61, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were June 16 with burial in Crossroads Cemetery. Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia handled the arrangements.
Mr. Robertson was a roofer, disabled and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Serina Denise Robertson; and his parents, Arnon Eugene and Emily Ella Williams Robertson.
Survivors include his companion, Stella Melton of Yazoo City; a daughter, Misty Doyle of Gloster; two sons, Franklin Eugene Robertson of Gloster and Richard Lee Robertson Jr. of Livingston, La.; three sisters, Laura Jean Graham of Sumrall, Linda B. Laessia of Pickensville, Ala. and Marie McHan of Ackerman; and five grandchildren.

CAROL WARD

Nurse, daughter and loving mother Carol Sue Ward died on Thursday in Yazoo City after a lengthy struggle with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. She was 58.
Ms. Ward left many family and friends who love her. Family members include her mother, Vera McMichael; a son, Robbie Scott Ward of Starkville; two daughters, Tonya Kaye Ward of Jackson and Suzanne Michele Bell of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a brother and a sister, Doug McMichael of Edwards and Joyce Frederick of Pearl and two grandchildren.
Ms. Ward is preceded in death by her father, James Hubert McMichael.
Stricklin-King Funeral Home handled the arrangements for the Sunday service, which included Rev. David Humphreys officiating. Burial was at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.
A graduate of Yazoo City High School and the nursing program at the Hinds Junior College-Mercy Hospital Center in Vicksburg, she worked as a nurse for many years. Showing her dedication to others, Ms. Ward worked a 12-hour shift at a hospital in Greenville before she walked to the emergency room and checked herself in for breathing problems related to the muscular dystrophy.
She married her high school sweetheart, Billy Don Ward of Benton, and divorced after 17 years. Her most cherished role in life was as a mother.  Even during times of strong financial struggles as a single mother, she made sure her children had clothes to wear to school, enough food to eat and a decent place to live.  
She also loved her parents for their caring nature, especially her mother, who served as caretaker toward the end of her life. Ms. Ward's family takes special comfort knowing that she left this world in the presence of her mother, the woman who gave her life.
Ms. Ward will be remembered as gentle, loving woman who overcame many challenges in life-a hard divorce, debilitating illnesses and even a tornado that damaged her house a few months ago. Two weeks before her death, she regained much of her strength and smiled and laughed often with friends and family. During her last weeks, Ms. Ward even began to walk after months of having no strength or feelings in her legs.
No longer hurting from an illness, she feels only love and knows how many people loved her deeply.

Lamar WarmackLAMAR WARMACK

Lamar Warmack, 56, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Monday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cresswell officiating. Burial followed at Central Holmes Cemetery.
Mr. Warmack was born June 13, 1954 in Isola to Charles C. and Edna Louise Cresswell Warmack. He was a surveyor, a musician and a member of Eden Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Warmack of Yazoo City; son, Jonathan Lamar Warmack of Yazoo City; stepson, David Scott Rodgers of Yazoo City; stepdaughter, Tina Nicole Rodgers of Yazoo City; four brothers, Charles Edward Warmack, Percy Miller Warmack, Paul Lewis Warmack and Larron Warmack, all of Yazoo City; four sisters, Mona Belle Fulgham, Milah Jo Munn and Martha Sue Warmack, all of Yazoo City, and Mavis Walker of Mansfield, La.; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
