Nine candidates vying for District 4 county seat

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Nine candidates have qualified for the Yazoo County’s District 4 supervisor seat.
With qualification deadline on Sept. 7, the candidates will now be vying for the position on the general ballot in November.
The seat has been held by Jayne Dew after the Board of Supervisors appointed her following the death of her husband, Ed Dew. Ed Dew held the seat for two decades.
Circuit Clerk Robert Coleman said there will be no primary election for the county seat. All candidates will appear on the same ballot during the general election on Nov. 6.
