Crump Fountain honors generosity
The Crump Fountain was constructed in 1909 in memory of George Crump, who left his estate to be used for Yazoo public schools. By JAMIE PATTERSON

George P. Crump appears to have kept to himself during his time in Yazoo County.
Other than a few brief articles in local newspapers, there is not much record of him within Yazoo history.
However, the historic fountain on the edge of the Triangle Cultural Center grounds serves as a constant reminder of his commitment to the area.
