OFFER TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR
LEASE OF SIXTEENTH SECTION LAND
The undersigned will receive sealed bids until 2:00 o’clock p.m., Tuesday, October 2, for the following agricultural leases for a period of five (5) years, beginning January 1, 2012 and ending December 31, 2017.
1. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 10, RANGE 1 EAST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 10, Range 1 East,
containing approximately 516.30 acres, currently leased to Nolan O’Reilly.
2. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 10, RANGE 1 WEST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 10, Range 1 West,
containing approximately 449.30 acres, currently leased to Harris
Land and Cattle Co., David Dooley.
3. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 11, RANGE 5 WEST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 11, Range 5 West,
containing approximately 56.0 acres, currently leased to Keith
Goodman.
4. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 11, RANGE 5 WEST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 11, Range 5 West,
containing approximately 72.0 acres, currently leased to Bonnie
Farms, Claiborne Adcock.
5. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 11, RANGE 5 WEST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 11, Range 5 West,
containing approximately 30.0 acres, currently leased to Bonnie
Farms, Claiborne Adcock.
6. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 12, RANGE 1 EAST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 12, Range 1 East,
containing approximately 190.2 acres, currently leased to Nolan O’Reilly.
NOTE: By order of the Board of Education, advance payment of lease and certification of Insurability will be required on all leases, due upon execution of Contract. (within fifteen days of awarding lease) 5% of bid amount will be made payable in the form of cashier’s check or money order at the time of bid. (Refundable if bid not successful) A security deposit in the amount of 1 year’s tax will be paid at the execution of the Contract.
The County Board of Education reserves the right to execute timber deeds; oil, gas and mineral leases; and deed for rights of way serving power, gas, telephone lines and public roads.
All leases will be subject to the laws of Mississippi regarding the use of timber upon Sixteenth Section lands.
Lessees will be required to indemnify and hold harmless Lessor from any and all damages, claims or rights of action of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of any acts of Lessees, their agents, servants, employees, guests or invitees, in the exercise of the rights granted in said lease. Lessee will also be required to procure general liability insurance in an amount to be determined by Lessor which will name Lessor as an insured under said policy or policies to protect Lessor from any and all damages or claims arising out of Lessees acts in the exercise of the rights granted under said lease.
Bid forms shall be secured from the Office of the County Superintendent of Education. All bids are required to be submitted on such form.
Each bidder must satisfy the Board of Education as to his ability to comply with the term of his bid.
The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.

Any person, firm, association or corporation, deeming that the granting of the above application(s) Will be truly detrimental to their rights to utilize the waters of said source, may protest in writing to the Permit Board of the State of Mississipi, C/o Jamie Crawford, P.O. Box 2309, Jackson, Mississippi 39225, setting forth all reasons why said application(s) should not be approved.
