City to revisit pit bull issues

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

City leaders will hold a work session to discuss what ordinance they want to form or amend concerning vicious dogs within Yazoo City.
Ward 4 Alderman Aubry Brent Jr. first sparked the discussion several months ago when he suggested implementing a ban on pit bulls. There have been differing opinions within the board on whether the ordinance should be breed specific.
Sarah O’Reilly-Evans, board attorney, presented several examples from other municipalities with their ordinances on vicious dogs, a few aimed specifically with pit bulls, during the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting Monday.
