Yazoo County head coach Bernard Eull is going to have to find a little room on his desk or in the school trophy case.
The reason?
For the first time in five years, the Y-Team Trophy, given annually to the winner of the Yazoo City-Yazoo County football game, will reside on the Yazoo County campus for the next 365 days thanks to the Panthers’ 7-6 victory over the Indians last Friday night.
“This was a big victory for our kids and our community,” said Eull. “This is just my second season here so I didn’t really know the full scope of the rivalry. This is big for the players and big for the community. The community deserved this and the players did their part to make it happen.”
