Yazoo City Ponytails

LEAKESVILLE- Several players didn’t get home until the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The three and a half hour drive from Greene County added more time for the celebrations as the Yazoo City Ponytails (11-12) softball team won the 2010 Mississippi Dixie Softball State Championship Monday night in Sand Hill.

The Ponytails needed to win back to back games to represent Mississippi in the Dixie Softball World Series, which begins July 31 in Columbia County, Ga.
