GLADYS FOSTER
Gladys Foster, 87, of McCarley died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 at her home in Montgomery County.
Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home and Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. David Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Canton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Foster was born Sept. 26, 1924 in Attalla County to Ellie and Dennie Mae Kemp Parker. She was a retired secretary for Mississippi Chemical Corporation and a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Foster; a son, Rodney Foster; and a granddaughter, Brandy Strickland.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Harthcock of El Dorado, Ark. and Diane White of Yazoo City; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe Lawrence, Dustin Strickland, Kaitlynn Walker, Nicholas Jones, Cody McCrary, Cori McCrary and Caleb Jones.

DOT JOHNSON
Darthamae "Dot" Johnson McDonald, 84, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 in Memphis after an extended illness.
Visitation is today at 1 p.m. before the service at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Poplar Avenue in Memphis, Tenn.  Burial will be in Dover Cemetery in Bentonia at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Mrs. Johnson was born on August 21, 1927 in Yazoo County. She served 22 years as secretary of Frazier Baptist Church of Memphis, as a helper in the office  of First Baptist Church of Yazoo City for one year, and she was a receptionist for 8 years at the Summit Club of Memphis.  
The last several years she occasionally was the weekend receptionist at the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club. She had an outgoing personality and loved interacting with people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Steven Johnson and Cornelia Manor Johnson and her brother, Marion Steven Johnson, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, David Marlin McDonald, her brother, Jim Drue Johnson of Memphis and her nephews Frank Johnson (Georgia),  Mike Johnson (Donna) of Bentonia and Don Johnson (Sherry) of Brandon and their families.

ALMA MORRIS
Alma Elizabeth Morris, 80, went home to be with her lord on August 9, 2012. Funeral services are August 11, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church of Yazoo City with Rev. Sam Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery.
Mrs. Morris was born July 12, 1932 in Natchez to Hazel Latham Hauer and Carl Fredrick Hauer. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ferriday, La. where she devoted herself to various ministries until her move to Yazoo City. She was well known for her many talents as she sewed for the public, decorated cakes, and was a gifted painter. Mrs. Morris had a special love for children as evidenced by the many photos of friends children displayed around her home.
She made Yazoo City her home four years ago where she made many new friends, enjoyed family, and loved church. She will be affectionately remembered for her joyful disposition, devotion to family, her beautiful countenance as a result of God’s grace in her life, and all of her wonderful works of art from quilting to painting. Mrs. Morris loved helping others, and her friends and family were encouraged by her positive outlook and faith in the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Morris; and a brother, Carl Fredrick Hauer, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Young (Philip) and Debra Kirk; grandchildren, Terri Barnes (Barry), Jennifer Mayfield (Les), Raymond E. Kirk, Jr. (Jennifer), and Cody Kirk (Lauren) and Brooks Dunwoody; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother Charles E. Hauer and companion, Malcom W. Weathersby

RICK STEWART
Richard Allen “Rick” Stewart Benton, 60, of Benton died early Wednesday morning at his home.
Funeral services were Saturday at Scotland Baptist Church in Bentonia.
Mr. Stewart was born Oct. 15, 1951 in Orlando, Fla. where he attended Ocoee Public School. Rick was a welder, and a paramedic. He was employed as a welder with various companies at different out of state locations. He was formerly employed with Hardy Wilson Hospital in Hazlehurst as a paramedic, and had also worked for Capital Cablevision in Jackson where he met and married his wife Shirley. He later bought and operated the Tin Box Flower Shop in Clinton.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding.  Rick was very talented with horses and for a time, he and Shirley raised Percheron draft horses, at present, he was raising Missouri Foxtrotter Horses. He was a member of the Missouri Fox Trotters Horse Association, MS Chapter, where he and his wife Shirley enjoyed many trail rides.
He was a member of Scotland Baptist Church and had recently given his life to the Lord. He loved his church and was helping with the remodeling of the church sanctuary. He will be remembered for his laughter, his playful spirit and his smile. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Shirley Hughes Stewart, his mother, Jocelyn “Jo” Gay Stewart Arnold of GA, his children, Chelsie Stewart Case, (Kelby), Richard “Halsey” Stewart (Kimberly), all of Brookhaven, Skye Stewart Hopper (Stephen) of Benton, eight grandchildren, Kirstie, Dava, Dawn, Rachael, Cameron, Blake, Lil Halsey, Jack and one granddaughter on the way, Addy Grace Hopper; his sister, Connie Causey of FL, nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alva “PeeWee” Stewart of FL., and many dogs that he loved, but especially his  bulldog “Beulah”. Donations may be made to Scotland Baptist Church Building Fund,  5617 Scotland Rd, Bentonia, MS 39040.

LARISSA WILLIAMS
Larissa Renee “Ree Ree” Williams, 31, died July 26, 2012.
Funeral services were Aug. 4 at Bethel M.B. Church with Rev. M.C. Miller officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 3, 1980 in Vicksburg to Herman and Dorothy Williams. She was a 1999 graduate of Yazoo City High School and later earned degrees from Antonelli College and Virginia College before earning a degree from Everest University. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rotavius; a daughter, Ryneisha; and her grandfathers, Eugene Sneed and Charles Williams.
Survivors include her parents, Herman and Dorothy Williams; four children, Rhiana, Rodney, Rodriquez and Rotianna; grandmothers, Pearl Sneed Davis of Yazoo City and Elnora Williams of Eden;  a sister, Petrina Sneed of Texas; two brothers, Herman Williams Jr. of Texas and Elton Sneed (Constance) of Tenn.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were the men of the Yazoo City High School Class of 1999. The ladies of the Class of 1999 served as flower bearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Williams Sr., Elton Sneed, James Matthews, Herman Williams Jr., Tawaine Garner and Floyd Williams.
