At the end of Wednesday’s soccer match between Manchester and Bayou, nothing much had changed other than the Lady Mavs had added another win to their record.
The Lady Mavericks may have some new bumps and bruises after a physical game that saw bodies falling down left and right. However, Manchester dominated the game from nearly every other aspect in an 8-0 victory.
“I really like the way we are coming together,” Manchester head coach Casey Jacobs said. “We’re starting to figure things out.”
Senior Kaitlyn Woods found the back of the net early and often, scoring the first goal within the opening five minutes of the game on a shot from the left side of the pitch and bounced off of the back post into the net. Minutes later, Maggie Creswell made it 2-0 with a shot from the middle of the six-yard box.
