KATHERINE NIVEN
Funeral services for Katherine Niven, 88, of Yazoo City, were at 11 a.m. Aug. 7, 2012, from Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Smith officiating.
Burial was in the Midway Baptist Church cemetery with Stricklin-King Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Niven died Aug. 4 at King’s Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City.
The homemaker was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Mrs. Niven was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Norris Bud Niven.
Survivors are three sons, Charles Robert Niven of Fairhope, Ala., Sammy Niven of Yazoo City and Jackie Niven of Flora; a sister, Vertie Lee Jones of Benton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Johnny Murtagh, Billy Roden, Gene Guy Jr., Bobby Parker, Billy Ray Jones and Dewey Hood.
Sammy Niven Jr., Jeremy Niven and Parish Coleman served as honorary pallbearers.

MARY MAGDALENE INGRAM

Funeral services for Mary Magdalene Ingram, 84, were at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 4, 2012, from New Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Harry Scott officiating.
Century Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Ingram was a member of New Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she was a member of the We Care Club and the Mother Board.
Survivors are her husband of 65 years, Joseph Ingram Sr.; nine children, Joseph Ingram of Canton, Julia Ingram of Compton, Calif., Vivian Evans and Phyllis Reasor of Yazoo City, Horace Ingram of Chicago, Faye Brown of Midway, Ga., Phoebe Clay of Stafford, Va. and Walter Ingram of Terry; 40 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry, Solomon and Willie Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

WILLIAM BERNARD ‘BILL’ LLOYD
William Bernard “Bill” Lloyd, also known as “Big Daddy,” 92, of Bay City, Texas, died Aug. 2, 2012, at the Bay Villa Healthcare Center.
No funeral services were planned as his body was donated to science.
Mr. Lloyd owned and operated the Red Barn Minit Mart #3, formerly located on the corner of Jerry Clower Boulevard and 20th Street,  for 20 years.
He graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, Texas, where he was a basketball player and a swimmer. Mr. Lloyd served as a captain in the Army Air Force during World War II.
He was in retail sales and management throughout his career.
Mr. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Marguerite Lege, and two sisters, Melba Cox and Clara Anne Snider.
Survivors are his daughter and her husband, Peggy and Victor Martinez of Bay City, Texas; two sons and their wives, Bill and Sarah Lloyd of Brookhaven, and Skip and Denise Lloyd of New Orleans; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Julia Oliver; a brother, Tommy Lloyd, and many nieces and nephews.
The family asks that memorials be sent to the Chapel of the Cross in Rolling Fork, or to a favorite charity.

MARY ANN JOHNSTON BURNS

Mary Ann Johnston Burns, 79, of Benton died at her home on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 8, from Benton United Methodist Church, located at 1348 Old Highway 16 in Benton. The Rev. William Wilkerson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will in the Benton Baptist Church Cemetery with Stricklin-King Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Charlie Wade Burns Sr.; her son, Charlie Wade Burns,Jr.; her daughter, Angie Burns Morrison (Wayne) and six grand children, Denny Perry (Shyla), Trey Burns (Cassie), Katie Morrison Boykin (Brett), Mary Hampton Morrison, William Burns Morrison, and Monica James Morrison.
She is also survived by her brothers James Johnston (Hazel) and Fred Johnston (Rita) of Yazoo City.
The family is appreciative to Kay Taylor for her help in taking care of Mrs. Burns. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the Benton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1, Benton, MS 39039.
