REAVER BROWN
Reaver “Junior” Edward Brown, 83, died on July 30, 2012 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Cynthia Church of Christ Holiness USA in Jackson with Elder Ronald Bingham officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the funeral services under the direction of Collins Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was born, the second child of 11, to the late John Reaver Vance Brown and Rosie Emmanuel (Gates) Brown on May 10, 1929. He attended Humphrey County Training School in Louise before joining the Army.
Following a two year enlistment, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He later joined Tougaloo College as an Assistant Business Manager before pursuing studies at Long Island University in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Following graduation, he worked with the Federal Government in Huntsville, Ala. until he retired and returned to Yazoo City in 1990.
He was a member of the Christ Temple Church of Christ Holiness USA at Wolf Lake.
Survivors include a host of family and friends.
