Mr. and Mrs. David Horton exchange vows

Mr. and Mrs. David Horton Mr. and Mrs. David Horton Kate Breanna Goodman and David Scott Horton II were united in marriage at six o’clock in the evening on February 18, 2012, at First United Methodist Church of Yazoo City. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Willis Ray Poole.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Emile Goodman Sr. of Yazoo City. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jennings Stricklin Sr. of Yazoo City and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gray Goodman Sr. of Bentonia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Scott Horton Sr. of Scott. He is the grandson of Mr. Sidney Arnold Smith and the late Bobbie Frasier Smith of Scott and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carroll Horton and the late Mary Lewis Horton of Lake Village, Ark.
Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Marvin Terrell, pianist; Mrs. William Edward Phillips, flutist; and Mrs. James Vernon Whitaker, organist. Cousin of the bride, Mr. Phillip Nolan Dixon of Benton, sang a solo of “Be Thou My Vision.”
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory French Alencon lace gown by Rivini. The strapless gown had a deep sweetheart neckline and silk organza draping the bodice and releasing into a sash at the center back that swept to the end of the chapel length train. The fit and flared skirt was trimmed with tiny buttons down the back to the end of the train. Completing her ensemble was a fingertip-length ivory illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of Tibet, Mythos and Vitality white roses.
Attending the bride as maids of honor were her sisters, Savannah Marie Goodman and Laura Catherine Goodman. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Lane Berryhill, Tatum Noblitt Goodman, Katherine Apostle Hedglin, Jessie Jones Hornback, Anna McLaurin Horton, Anne Kendall Ketchum, Laura Simmons McMaster, Meredith Loving Manship, and Kathryn Simmons Prosser. They wore floor length gowns of slate dupioni silk and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas, white roses, and stock.
Honorary bridesmaids were Carrie Leigh Benoist, Molly Benoist Eaton, Louise Callaway McMillin, Katie Lynn Merriwether, Georgia Goodman Trebisky, and Elizabeth Goodman Williams.
The groom’s father served as best man and the groomsmen were Robert Lee Brown IV, Daniel Edward Goodman, Kenneth Emile Goodman Jr., John Baker Harrington, William Harold Herrin, Clayton Maxwell Horton, Matthew Tyler McCain, Herbert Tucker Miller IV, James Glenn Peters, Jr., Jason Gilmore Schultz, Andrew Price Smith, Ray Kelly Smith IV, Matthew Lee Stephens, Walter Bell Stephens, and William Mullens Zeigler.
Caroline Grace Swaim and John Ross Swaim, the bride’s cousins, were the program attendants. Mrs. Henry Clifton Watson served as the wedding director.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at their home. Guests enjoyed cuisine by The Pantry and entertainment by Escalade Show Band.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Yazoo City Country Club.
Following a honeymoon to Napa Valley and San Francisco, the couple is at home in Scott.
