The heavy rainfall didn’t damper the spirits of those who gathered for Relay for Life last Friday night in Yazoo City.
About 200 people arrived at the Wardell Leach Recreational Complex, ready to show their support in honor of loved ones or for those who have survived or continue to battle cancer.
There was a feeling of hope and courage among the crowd as the sun seemed to appear behind the rain clouds with teams and other supporters arriving for the family-friendly event.
“The rain did keep some people away,” said Pamela Shanks, event coordinator. “But it ended up being a beautiful evening.”
