HANK BROWN
Henry Webster “Hank” Brown, 54, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at his home in Bentonia.  
Funeral services were Thursday at Canton Cemetery. Burial followed under the direction of Breeland Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Cook Brown and grandson, Jaydyn K. Hallman.
Survivors include his sons, Justin M. Brown (Darlene) and Colton H. Brown; daughters, Brittany R. Hallman and Bailey N. Brown; grandchildren, Cody M. Brown, Kaylyn J. Hallman, and Chloe L. Brown; brother, James C. Brown (Linda); and sister, Deanna B. Harrison (Charles).

JOHN JEFFERSON
John Lee Jefferson, 72, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at home.
Funeral services are today at noon at Piney Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Leroy Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Knight & Lindsey Funeral Home.
Mr. Jefferson was born Nov. 1, 1939 in Yazoo County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Jefferson and his mother, L.C. Green.
Survivors include four sons, Joe Nathan Green, Roosevelt Green, Willie Earl Green and Kennedy Green (Annie), all of Lexington; daughters, Hazel McCary (Willie) and Annette Green of Lexington, Jacqueline Winters (Eddie) of Yazoo City and Florence Greene of Lexington; a brother, Bob Jefferson of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Allen Wayne Green, Kennedy Wayne Green Jr., David Lee Green, Willie McCary Jr., Jerry Taylor and Malcolm Mayberry.
Honorary pallbearers are Kennedy Wayne Green Sr., Bob Jefferson, Willie Earl Green, Roosevelt Green and Joe Nathan Green Jr.

LAWRENCE SANDS
Lawrence Bernard Sands, 82, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas.
A family memorial was held on July 7, 2012 at his daughter’s home. Lawrence has been cremated with his ashes being spread in the Texas Hill country where he loved to hunt and felt the most peace.
Mr. Sands was born Nov. 15, 1929 in Yazoo City to the late William L. Sands and Maudie Callahan Guercio. He was a graduate of Yazoo City High School and proudly served our country in the United States Naval Reserves.
His sweetness, goodness and intelligence endeared him to all his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Sandra Sands McKinney (Dale), Robert L. Sands and Gloria Sands Castleberry (John N.); nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Special thanks to his loving caretakers of Remarkable Healthcare Nursing Home and Hospice Compassas of Fort Worth. To his devoted CNAs, Nurses and Doctors, we thank you.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassas, Fort Worth.

LYMAN TAIT Sr.
Lyman E. Tait Sr., 61, died July 6, 2012 at home.
Funeral services were Monday at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Tait was born Jan. 24, 1951 in Yazoo County to Charles and Gracie Covey Tait. He was an instrument supervisor.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Tait.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Tait of Bentonia; son, Lyman Tait Jr. of Bentonia; daughters, Stacey Tait of Bentonia and Danielle Watson of Alabama; stepson, Justin Figgemeier of Biloxi; mother, Gracie Tait of Bentonia; and eight grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Charlie Creech, Randy Nicholson, Gordon E. Muskgrove Jr., Bill Walker, Mark Glascoe and W.A. Sims Jr.
