From dining room etiquette to lifesaving techniques, many of Yazoo’s young ladies have it covered thanks to the annual Camp Magnificent Me.
Sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Yazoo City, the three-day camp provides a variety of exercises and training workshops centered  around etiquette and healthy lifestyles for young girls.
About 20 girls participated in the camp this year, and many community leaders joined in this year’s efforts to educate them on a variety of topics.
“This was the largest class I have seen during my time with Junior Auxiliary,” said Brittany Ketchum, JA member and camp chairman. “It was refreshing to see so many young girls excited about our workshops and activities. It was fun, but they also took away some life lessons that we hope remain with them.”
JA members and volunteers from the community spent the past few mornings in a variety of workshops from CPR training to a dining etiquette course, concluding with a brunch.
“We had a variety of exercises this year,” Ketchum said. “It covered a wide range of topics that taught the girls how to behave in social situations, how to show respect and practicing consideration with others.”
