There isn’t a more excited woman in Yazoo City this week than Imogene Erickson.
The former Miss Mississippi headed to Vicksburg last night to be recognized with other past royalty at this year’s pageant.
The local beauty was crowned Miss Mississippi 1957, and she put Yazoo City on the map with her classic charm and magnetic disposition.
“I’m so excited to be a part of it,” Erickson said.
This year’s pageant will be held this evening, but week-long celebrations have been held in Vicksburg in anticipation of the big night.
Erickson was the last Miss Mississippi crowned on the Gulf Coast. The ceremony was then moved to Vicksburg, where it has been for over 50 years.
