Martin graduates from seminary

Matthew Wayne Martin, a Yazoo City native, recently earned a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Matthew Wayne Martin graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in  Louisville, Kent. on May 18. He received a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology.
Matt, a native of Yazoo City, graduated from Manchester Academy in 2003 and in 2007 received his B.A. from Mississippi College in Clinton.
While a student at M.C., he was music/youth minister at Bethlehem Baptist Church and Bentonia Baptist Church.  
On December 11, 2011 Matt was ordained into the Ministry at First Baptist Church in Yazoo City by Rev. David Bryant, pastor of First Baptist Church.
Matt and his wife, the former Melanie Huff of Ridgeland, live in Memphis, Ind. where he is associate pastor of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Henryville, Ind..  
They have one daughter, Baylee Grace.
Matt is the son of Billy and Teresa Martin of Yazoo City, grandson of Nora Martin of  Yazoo City, and grandson of Jocleta Cartledge of Kilmichael.
