Jonathan Warmack didn’t have to go looking for the music world.
He was born into it.
Being the son of the late local music legend “Guitar Lamar” Warmack, Jonathan has it in his blood to handle any instrument he puts in his hands and leave a crowd wanting more in the end.
Aside from playing locally whenever he can, Jonathan is making a name for himself in the music business as lead guitarist for Jason Fratesi and the Dirt Road Jam Band.
The band has played with Steve Azar and will open for Neal McCoy at the annual Balloon Glow in Ridgeland this weekend. There are also plans in the works for joining several other award-winning musicians.
But for Jonathan, it’s always been about the music.
“I started playing music when I was about ten years old,” Jonathan said.
With a father whose nickname was Guitar Lamar, Jonathan wanted to branch out to another instrument.
