Benton woman killed in accident

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

A Yazoo County woman was among the three victims in a fatal wreck in Brandon last week.
Funeral services for Janice Ray VanCleave, 53, of Benton, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home. Visitation will be held an hour prior to funeral services.
The accident occurred on 1-20 in Ranking County last Thursday afternoon. Traffic was closed for hours along the interstate as emergency personnel responded to the fiery crash.
VanCleave was a passenger in the Chevrolet pickup truck that crossed the median into the westbound lane of the busy interstate. Michael Monroe Lewis, 42, and Christopher Austin Kirkland, 19, were also  inside the vehicle.
The truck collided with an 18-wheeler, erupting both vehicles into flames.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, Bryan Freudeman, survived the accident.
