By JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

Several state inmates were injured Wednesday night in a gang-related riot at the Yazoo County Correctional Facility.
Joseph Head, chief deputy of the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the incident occurred at around 11 p.m. City and county law enforcement officers along with the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded and stayed on the scene until 3:20 a.m.
One inmate remains in a Jackson hospital.
“It was a fight between Vice Lords and Gangster Disciples,” Head said.
