Telephone scam efforts continue

By JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

Efforts to scam people out of their money by telephone have become so common that even the sheriff of Yazoo County has received a call.
“I actually got a call the other day saying I won a car,” said Sheriff Jake Sheriff. “I said, ‘Then you ride in it. Have a good day,’ and hung up. The best thing to do with these calls is don’t entertain them at all. Hang up immediately, and they’ll probably stop calling.”
