Garden club travels to Ridgeland nursery for floral demonstration
The Lintonia Garden Club held its monthly meeting at Mostly Martha’s in Ridgeland. Club members who earned 100 points from the club meetings, projects and workshops are Elouise Upchurch, Dot Meeks, Ruby Gilliam and Judy Sanford. Special to The Herald
The Lintonia Garden Club met Wednesday, May 23rd at Mostly Martha’s in Ridgeland. Linda Sowell, a florist and owner of Mostly Martha’s made several floral arrangements using various containers.
She also showed ways to use angel vine and other materials to enhance flowers. Members enjoyed looking at the wide selection of silk glowers, greenery containers, and other decorative items in the shop.
Members then had lunch at Hamill’s Restaurant. During the luncheon, members who have accumulated at least 100 points from club meetings, projects and workshops were named. The members are Elouise Upchurch, Dot Meeks, Ruby Gilliam, and Judy Sanford. Ruby Gilliam was recognized as Woman of the Year. She received a beautiful pot of geraniums. The club also presented Elousie Upchurch with a gift for her outstanding service as president.
