JIM HENDRIX
Jimmie “Jim” Hendrix, 78, died June 4, 2012 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Sunday at Chapel Hill M.B. Church with Rev. Thaddeus Williams officiating. Burial followed at Bull Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Hendrix was born Sept. 29, 1933 in Yazoo City to the late Will and Mary Price Hendrix.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Hall Hendrix; two sisters, Hazel Walker and Carolyn Hendrix; four brothers, Will Hendrix, O.D. Hendrix, Charlie Hendrix and James Carl Hendrix; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include a daughter, Bessie Young; son, Phillip Earl Davis; three step-daughters, Vickie Hall Cooper, Jackie Hall and Bettina Hall; two step-sons, William Hall and Steven Hall; three sisters, Mary Johnson (Kermick) of Yazoo City, Albert Singleton of Arlington, Va. and Jursteen Madyum of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Willie Hendrix (Gwen) of Peroia, Ill., Jerry Hendrix of Yazoo City and E.L. Hendrix (Ruby) of Yazoo City; two step-sisters, Eliza H. Hendrix and Vera Hendrix; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were E.L. Hendrix, Ricky Hendrix, Jerry Hendrix, Glenn Johnson, R.L. Jackson and Raymond Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were Will Earl Price, Elex Price, Kermick Johnson Sr., John Price, Edward Price and Willie Hendrix.

ELIZABETH RICKER
Elizabeth Porter “Liz” Ricker, 74, of Pine Bluff, Ark. died Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
Funeral services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Shannon Road Baptist Church with Bobby Hartsfield and Clay Cox officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services of Pine Bluff, Ark.
Mrs. Ricker was born August 17, 1937 in Yazoo City, to the late William Henry Porter and Emily Hanna Porter. She graduated from high school in Yazoo City, and was employed as a physician’s assistant for Dr. Hogue. She also worked at the Fashion Outlet in Pine Bluff as a manager for five years, but mainly she was a devoted and loving wife and mother.
A resident of Pine Bluff since 1980, she was a member of Shannon Road Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death are a grandson, Jeremy Ricker; two brothers, Rudolph Porter and Roy Porter; and a sister, Faye Gordon.
Survivors include her husband, Nolan B. Ricker; children, Mike Ricker (Beth), Ronnie Ricker (Billie), Lisa Woolley (John); three brothers, Earl Porter, Ray Porter, and Sonny Porter, all of Yazoo City; her grandchildren, Brittany Ricker, Briana Ricker, Paige Ricker. Austin Logan, Colby Woolley, and Morgan Woolley.

RUBY JOHNSON
Ruby Earline Johnson, 88, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at the University Medical Center.
Funeral services were Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with Rev. Greg Clemts and Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial followed at Lakewood South Cemetery in Jackson.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Coxburg and had lived in Vicksburg for over 20 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Candle Lighters Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Annie Wigley; her husband, James F. Johnson; sisters, Frances Mildred Wigley, Sadie Juanetta Hood, Vera Katherine Wigley and Gertrude Rodgers; and brothers, Joseph Monroe Wigley, Woodrow Wilson Wigley, David Jefferson Wigley Jr. and Thomas Earl Wigley.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Johnson Lee (Terry) of Vicksburg; a brother, William Ned Wigley of Yazoo City; two grandchildren, Nicholas Woods (Angel) and Christopher Woods; and two grandchildren, Callie and Zoe Woods.
Serving as pallbearers were David Woods, Christopher Woods, Nicholas Woods, Shelton Raner, Ed Minella, Carl Johnson, Mark Dement and James Davidson.
Honorary pallbearer was Howard Johnson.
