OTHA FRAZIER

Otha L. Frazier, 62, died May 29, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at Peter Rock Church of God In Christ with Rev. Calvin Knight officiating. Burial followed at Loch Lomond Cemetery in Holly Bluff under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Frazier was born June 21, 1949 in Yazoo County to the late Wallene Frazier Sr. and Elizabeth Curry Frazier. He was an electrician, carpenter, mechanic, plumber and cook. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Holly Bluff.
Survivors include his wife, Melvasteen Green Frazier; son, Jerome Frazier of Yazoo City; a daughter, Reba Shantee’ Frazier of Pearl; step-daughter, Sabrina Williams of Holly Bluff; four sisters, Bessie Gentry (Ruben), Eula Gentry (Roosevelt) and Hattie L. Frazier, all of Jackson, and Dorothy Green (Paul Jr.) of Holly Bluff; three brothers, Wallene Frazier Jr. of Fon-du-Lac, Wisc., Earnest Jerome Frazier Sr. of Jackson and Danny Frazier Sr.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

GEORGE UTZ

George Louis Utz, 61, died May 26, 2012 at his mother’s home in Yazoo City after a lengthy illness.
A memorial service will be held at First Independent Methodist Church, 1440 Jackson Ave., Yazoo  City on Friday, June 8, at 10:30. a.m. Visitation will be before the service from 9:30 to 10:30 at First Independent Methodist Church.
Mr. Utz was born Nov. 16, 1950 in Greenville. He grew up in Yazoo City, and graduated from  Yazoo High School in 1968. He received a degree from Mississippi State University in Forestry.
He was preceded in death by his father, George H. Utz.
Survivors include his mother, Lorene Holleman Utz, of Yazoo City; his daughter Becky Sharpe (Will) and granddaughters Anna and Mary Sharpe of Columbia, S.C.; sons, George David and Jonathan Utz of Lumberton; sister, Jane Utz Underdahl (Harvey) and nephew Hughes Underdahl of Palm Desert, CA.; sister Polly Utz Beckman (Lee) and nephews L.J., Wesley, and Mark Beckman of Dallas, Texas.
Memorials may be made to First Independent Methodist Church or The Hope House of Hospitality, 786 E. Northside Drive, Jackson, Ms., where he received such loving care during his cancer treatments.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Through trials and struggles, George kept his faith to the end.

REBECCA WINTERS

Rebecca Christopher Winters, 77, died May 25, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at Word of Faith Christian Center with Rev. Edward Charles Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Winters was born July 4, 1934 to the late Martha Christopher in Yazoo County. She was a member of Word of Faith Christian Center, where she served as Mother of the church and as a member in their Prime Time Ministry. She was a mother of 14 children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Winters; three sons, Christopher, Robert and Daniel Winters; an infant child; her mother, Martha Christopher Warren; and a brother, Dave Reed.
Survivors include 10 children, James William Winters, Eddie Joe Winters (Jacqueline), Eddie Mae Almore (James), David Christopher Winters, Evelyn Williams (Oliver) and Rhonda Gibbs (Steve), all of Yazoo City; Martha Winters and Willie Winters (Shyneva) of Euless, Texas and Daisy Winters and Hazel Winters of Shreveport, La.; brother, Jerry Warren Sr.; sister, Jean Warren Robinson; 40 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were John Simmons, Eddie Joe Crockett, Ronricko Almore, Mitchell Gibbs, Trajuan White, Tony Winters, Anthony Robinson, Oliver Williams and Jeffery Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were Willie Winters, Eddie Joe Winters, David Winters and James Winters.
