Scott named Teacher of the Year

The Yazoo County School District recognizes Mrs. Charlotte Scott as the district teacher of the year.
Scott is married to John Henry Scott Jr. They have three children, Madison, Brianna and John III. She attends St. Matthew C.O.G.I.C., where she works with the youth and sings in the choir.
She has been teaching at Bentonia Gibbs Elementary School for three years. At Bentonia Gibbs, she serves as a mentor teacher, works on the interview team and presently serves as the lead teacher for the fourth grade.
Her passion to teach is exhibited in her everyday routine of incorporating hands on learning, as well as presenting instruction to all her students in a way that relates to real life situations.
She has been invited by the Mississippi Writing Thinking Institute at Mississippi State University to serve on a committee that allows teachers to develop strategies to teach students to write.
She attended Mississippi College, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She also received a Master’s in education in December. Her goal is to always offer the best of instruction to all her students that will one day offer the best citizens to our society.
