SHEMEKIA HARRIS
Shemekia Shanay Harris, 29, died May 16, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Ceaser Felton officiating.
Ms. Harris was born April 24, 1983 in Vicksburg to the late Chrisse Ann Robinson Harris and the late Johnny “Pop” Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandmother, Annie B. Harris.
Survivors include her great-grandmother, Vernice Brinston of Port Gibson; brother, Eugen Maurice Harris (LaVova) of Jackson; stepdad, Michael Robinson of Detroit; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Charles Harris Jr., Willie James Willis, Wesley Harris Jr., Johnathan Harris, Travis Harris and Roosevelt Harris.
Honorary pallbearers were Wesley Harris, Charles Harris, Eugene M. Harris, Willie James Harris, Henry Lee Harris and John Carter.

A’KEMIA McGEE
A’kemia Lashundra McGee, one month, died May 20, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at Century Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
A’kemia was born April 9, 2012 to Artkeshia Marie McGee. Although her life was brief, she was a blessing to the many people who got to know her.
She was preceded in death by Alma L. McGee, Otha L. McGee, Ellen Copeland, Jeffery Hunter and Linda Copeland.
Survivors include her mother, Artkeshia McGee; sisters, Almanika McGee and Antownae of Chicago; brothers, Leon of Chicago and Jayleon of Yazoo City; and a host of other relatives and friends.

SYLVIA POWELL
Sylvia Burrough Powell, 64, died  Wednesday, May 30, 2012.
She was a Baptist and loved her country.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle Collum; siblings, Carolyn Staggs and John L. Collum Jr. Sylvia is survived by her husband James “Jim” Powell; daughters, Barbara Ann Henderson (Ken), Jenny Taylor (Stacy); sons, Daniel Burrough (Patti), Tim Burrough (Regina), John Powell, and Robert Powell; sister, Sally Ryan; grandchildren, Kenneth (Kaylee), Kevin, Heather (Shaun), Brittany, Dalyn, Ashley, Heatherly (Chad), Haley, Joshua, Chelsea, and Austin; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Anna Catherine, Collier Rhea, Timothy Iasaih, Mackenzie Lynn, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Lakewood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
