Staples calls for volunteers to improve city’s parks

StaplesStaplesBy JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

Coach Johnny Staples said he’s glad to hear people voicing their concerns about the condition of local ball parks, and he hopes that it will motivate Yazooans to make a difference.
Staples, who has worked for years to promote recreation in Yazoo City, is calling for interested residents to join in an effort to improve the city’s parks. Staples said the Parks and Recreation Department isn’t providing the quality of service our youth should expect, but he said the department hasn’t received the support  from city and county government it needs to do the job.
