Sarah Edwards
Sarah Love Edwards, 73, died on May 15, 2012 at Kings Daughters' Hospital in Yazoo City.
Funeral services were Sunday at Lakewood Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, William Bates Edwards, her parents, John P. Bates and Betty Barnes Bates, brothers, J.P. Bates, Percy Bates and T.J. Bates, sisters; Nellie Bates Luckett, and Nellie's twin infant sister, Mary Lou Durfey, and Dorothy I. Penn. She leaves behind her loving family; husband Ralph Edwards of Madison, daughter, Lisa Love Edwards Haynes (Scott), grandchildren; Lacey Elizabeth, Michael Clinton, and Phillip Zachary Haynes all of Yazoo City, a sister; Daisy Robbins of Richmond, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sarah Love was born in 1939 in Flora. She was a graduate of Flora High School and Hinds Junior College. She was the 3rd Class of Hinds High Steppers. She married the "Love of her Life," Ralph Morgan Edwards on December 8, 1961, they were married for 50 years. She and her husband were residents of Clinton and members of Morrison Heights Baptist Church for many years. She worked in Banking for 40 years and retired in 2001 from Marketing.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered for a smile that could warm the soul and eyes that could outshine the stars. She never met anyone she didn't make an impact on. Her greatest love was her family.
A special thanks goes out to Dr. Marion Sigrest M. D. and staff, Kings Daughters' Hospital and staff, Dr. Richard Friedman and Staff, Dr. Tammy Young and staff, Dr. Vinod Anand and staff and to her "bestest" girlfriends and traveling buddies, all of whom she always said were her adopted sisters. We are all better people from the way she touched our lives.

BILLY ELLIS
Billy W. Ellis, 77, died Wednesday, May 17, 2012 at his home in Benton.
Funeral services were Saturday at Fletcher’s Chapel Cemetery with Rev. George Butler officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Ellis was born Feb. 9, 1935 in Yazoo County to Ruby Jeff Ellis and Annie Reccie Pierce Ellis. He was a supervisor for Mississippi Chemical Corporation and a member of Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helon Speakes Ellis; and three brothers, Leroy Ellis, R.J. Ellis and Leo Ellis.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela O’Neal (Danny) of Madison; and a sister, Bonnie Ruschewski.
Serving as pallbearers were Stanley Sanford and Jimmy Sanford.

JAMES LUCKETT
James Allen “Sac” Luckett Jr., 55, died May 14, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Matthew Church of God in Christ with Rev. Jimmy T. Jones officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Gardens under Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Luckett was born Nov. 21, 1956 in Vicksburg to Sara Mae Luckett Jones and the late James Allen Luckett. He spent most of his adult life in Chicago. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Sara Mae Luckett; two sons, Rev. G. Tyrone Haggard (Delonda) and Shandell Laws of Carbondale, Ill.; a daughter, Adiria Banks; three sisters, Linda Brown (Leon), Sandy Faye (Mike) and Tamy Jones (Dudley); five brothers, Ivory Earl (Louise), Charles Luckett, Bobby Ray (Teresa), Rev. Benard Luckett (Faye), and Rev. Jimmy Jones; and five grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were William T. Williams Jr., Henry L. Williams, Allen E. Williams, Troy McAllister, Tommy Barnes and William “D” Cotton.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Luckett, Rev. Benard Luckett, Rev. G. Tyrone Haggard, Ivory Luckett Sr., Rev. Jimmy Jones, Leon Brown Jr. and Bobby Luckett.

FREDDIE MOTON
Freddie Lee Moton, 56, died March 12, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at Mt. Nebo M.B. Church in Benton with Rev. Curtis Strong officiating. Burial followed at Lee Cemetery in Benton under the direction of Knight & Lindsey Funeral Home.
Mr. Moton was born Oct. 13, 1955 to Roosevelt Winters and Hattie Lee Moton. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his father, Roosevelt Winters; sons, Clifton Moton (Coretta) of Benton; Andrew Moton (Bertha) and Josiah Moton (Morgan) of Yazoo City, Thaddeus Moton (Sarah) of Naples, Italy, Drewry Auston of Yazoo City and Christopher Moton of Kosciusko; daughters, Jurie Auston of Jackson, Selina Kimbrough, Danielle Kimbrough, Leigha Kimbrough and Katrina Moton of Kosciusko; brothers, Willie Moton (Alice) and Sylvester Moton (Hannah) of Benton, Eddie Winters, Robert Winters and Roosevelt Winters Jr. of Alton Loma, Calif.; sisters, Lillie Winters, Rhonda Gardenia and Dorothy Morris of Alto Loma, Calif., Dorothy Winters of Milwaukee and Mary Herndon of Virginia; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Eddie Smith, Terry Bassett, Robert Smith, Juan Vega, John Carter and Ivory Joe Anderson.

ELAINE PEARCE
Elaine Clark Pearce, 89, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Monday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. Burial followed at Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. Pearce was born May 5, 1923 in Monroe to Clarence and Addie Rich Clark. She was an EKG technician for King’s Daughters Hospital and a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Pearce; a son, James Robert Pearce; son-in-law, Cullen Smith; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter Linda P. Smith of Yazoo City; and a son, Richard Pearce of Star City, Ark.
Serving as pallbearers were Thad Hicks, John Vandevere, Wiley Fisher, Joel Lovett, J.T. Ketchum and Curtis Merrell.
Honorary pallbearers were Pat Hill, Billy Johnston, Randy Ward and Allen Campbell.

MARY WISELY
Mary E. Wisely, 91, of Clinton died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services are today at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro, Ill.
Mrs. Wisely was born Oct. 15, 1920 in Murphysboro, Ill. to Millard and Mary Ann Attess Baker. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden Wisely; a son, Albert A. “Sonny” Wisely; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Green of Madison; and four grandchildren.
