The Yazoo County Retired Education Personnel Association met April 26 in the D. D. Waiver building at the Warren -Yazoo Mental Health Complex.
The meeting was called to order by President Barbara Moore. Virginia Scott led the group in singing “What a Friend we have in Jesus.” The devotional was given by Gala Starling with thoughts on counting blessings. The Lord’s Prayer was said in unison, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The minutes were read and approved. A new member, Dorothy Jefferson, joined the association.
The program was presented by Kathy McKeithen, a Medicare counselor. She explained the Medicare beneficiaries and Medicare’s preventive services. Parts A, B, C and D information were given. Anyone who needs information on Medicare may call the State Health Assistance Program. Counseling at Senior Centers is offered throughout the state.
On May 24, the association will have a retirement tea for new retirees at 2 p.m. in the D. D. Waiver building at the Warren-Yazoo Mental Health Complex.
Door prizes were awarded, and refreshments were enjoyed.
