The Yazoo City baseball recently wrapped up its summer league play going 5-4-1 while facing some of the top teams in state.
“The summer league gives those players that don’t get much playing time a chance to develop their skills,” Indians head coach Gerald Peyton said.
The Indians, who are coming off a record setting 15 win season, picked up three victories against Vicksburg and two over Yazoo County. Yazoo City would then battle through a gauntlet of talent but dropped three games in losses to Taylorsville and Hattiesburg before falling 6-2 to Sumrall, the number one high school team in the country.
