A Jackson man is accused of attempting to make his vehicle look like a police car to illegally stop drivers.
James Lucas was arrested Thursday by the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department after reportedly attempting to stop two drivers in Humphreys County. One of those drivers fired shots at Lucas from his car after being chased.
“The driver said he knew something was wrong when the suspect got out of his car with a gun drawn,” said officer Jack Willingham with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department. “He drove off, and fired some shots out of his window when the suspect gave chase. That’s when (the suspect) backed off.”
