LAURA COOPER

Laura L. Cooper, 90, died March 3, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Saturday at Peter’s Chapel AME Church in Benton with Rev. Vinson Ballard officiating. Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Knight & Lindsey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cooper was born Feb. 2, 1922 in Yazoo County to James and Flossie Moorehead Washington.
Survivors include a daughter, Letha Cooper of Yazoo City; stepdaughters, Joyce, Trina and Stephanie; niece, Jerlene Blackwell and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Andre Moore, Carl Williams, Anthony Charles, Ezra Williams, Melvin Lofton and William Lofton.

MARY PAUL

Mary Clair Paul, 84, died Friday, May 11, 2012.
Funeral services were Monday at Parkview Church of God with Rev. Ken Lynch officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Paul was born July 16, 1927 in Yazoo County to Sinclair and Elsie Vandevere Coleman. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Andrews of Madison; four sons, Denny Paul of Yazoo City, Bill Paul of Jackson, Mitch Paul of Yazoo City and Bob Paul of Yazoo City; two sisters, Erline Everett of Yazoo City and Julia Frances Frizell of Vicksburg; two brothers, T.R. “Son” Coleman and R.E. “Brut” Coleman, both of Yazoo City; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Dee Paul, Tim Paul, Mitchell Paul, Lee Andrews, Che’ Paul, Jay Paul and Blake Andrews.
Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Jordan, Wayne Allen, Pat Brabston, Wes Everett and Rex Brown.
